In today's issue, I'm going to share a topic that not every social media guru’s or an expert talk about.

Which is a topic on educational content.

Most social media content aims at offering solution to solve a problem.

Undeniably valuable, but it's only part of the story when building a sustainable business.

You might be wondering, why?

Because if you want to build a sustainable way to make money online, your content approach must overlook at a key demographic:

Individuals who aren't even aware they have a problem (that you can solve).

These are the people who should be part of your business, but they're currently oblivious. Your role is to illuminate the path for them.

But how can we accomplish this, Krystal?

By unraveling your customer’s buying journey is the key to tapping into this hidden potential:

  1. Discovery Stage: Individuals unaware of their problem.

  2. Awareness Stage: Those who've recognized their problem and are on the hunt for solutions.

  3. Consideration Stage: Individuals aware of various solutions, but haven't discovered yours yet.

  4. Evaluation Stage: Those who are familiar with your product, but they're uncertain about why it's the superior choice.

  5. Decision Stage: The ones on the brink of purchase, merely waiting for the right offer to tip the balance.

Grasping how customers traverse through these phases towards purchase enables you to curate content specifically tailored to each stage.

Here's how:

Engage the Discoverers

Create content that sheds light on issues for the Discovery Stage audience. This top-of-the-funnel group should be the target for half your daily social media content. Start with simple education and progress towards compelling arguments that awaken them to potential problems. Nail this, and you've got a pathway to an untapped customer base.

Here’s an example of Engage the Discoverers

Agitate the Aware

As your prospects move into the Awareness Stage, it's time to delve into the true impact of their problem. Content should explore the depth and personal implications of their problem. Another 40% of your social media content should be dedicated here.

Here’s an example of Agitate the Aware

Showcase Your Solution

When people hit the Consideration Stage and are actively seeking solutions, it's your moment to shine. Utilize mediums like newsletters, YouTube videos, webinars, and podcast appearances to demonstrate your understanding of their problem and your competency to solve it.

Here’s an example of Showcasing your Solution

Share Your Credibility

By the Evaluation Stage, your prospects will naturally be asking, "Why is your product/service the best choice?" Here, highlight your unique selling proposition, share testimonials, and case studies that illustrate your track record in solving similar problems.

Here’s an example of Sharing your Credibility

Entice the Deciders

When your customers reach the Decision Stage, it's time to roll out the red carpet. Exclusive discounts, bonuses, and limited-time offers can create a sense of urgency and make the decision easier for them.

Conclusion

In conclusion, appreciating and addressing the stages of your customer’s buying journey can revolutionize your content and business strategy.

This approach enables you to tailor content that meets your customers where they are, guide them towards a purchase, and position your brand as the preferred solution.

Action Tip

Reflect on your top-of-the-funnel content strategy.
